We had a great turnout for our resident appreciation lunch in late February… the last official event in our Hub for Engagement and Wellness at VGH before it closed temporarily for OR renovations. One hundred thirty-nine trainees and 169 physicians attended including VCH Medical Director, Post-Graduate Medical Education, Dr. Kelly Lefaivre.

The provincial government proclaimed February 9 – 13, 2026 as Resident Doctors Appreciation Week. VMDAS and VPSA add their recognition of the incredible dedication, compassion, and commitment resident doctors and fellows bring to patient care every day. We value our residents and fellows for the essential care they provide in our community of care. We recognize many of them are our future members and where possible we actively look at ways to support them including through the new VA Post Graduate Medical Education Learning Environment Committee and our annual Resident Physicians Recognition and Appreciation Event.
