Newsletter survey responses lead to changes

JillNews

A small sample of VMDAS and VPSA members responded to our recent survey regarding our Checkup e-newsletter. We thank those members who offered their feedback and we are now taking actions to address your suggestions.

We were pleased to learn that 53 per cent of respondents read their Checkups every week, with a further 19 per cent reporting that they read them most weeks. Overall, 54 per cent were satisfied with the newsletter with 22 per cent very satisfied and 19 per cent neutral. While 59 per cent feel the length was just right, 41 per cent did think it is too long. The newsletter’s content was deemed to be relevant by 88 per cent of the survey takers, with most people finding information on events and deadlines and opportunities for member engagement being the most useful.

We have taken your comments to heart and are taking the following steps to make improvements:

  • The newsletter will continue to be distributed on Sunday mornings at 6 am; however, we also issue it on Mondays at 9 am (or on a Tuesday when Monday is a statutory holiday). To switch to receiving your Checkups on Monday, please send an email to communications@vmdas.ca.
  • To reduce redundancy, we have adjusted where info is repeated. New VMDAS/VPSA events and news will only appear under the News banner once; after that, our events will move further down the newsletter to the Events section. We have compressed other repetitive information (e.g., all wellness resources are now accessed via our website).
  • To address the request for more information relevant to nurse practitioners, we have reached out to VCH’s Regional Department Head for NPs to ask for assistance with NP events and story suggestions.

We welcome your input on your weekly Checkups anytime. Please contact us at communications@vmdas.ca.
