Bowling strikes a chord with members

JillNews

Some 85 members and their families and friends attended our May 30th bowling event in downtown Vancouver. It was the second time VPSA’s Community Building & Wellness Task Group has hosted bowling and, by all accounts, won’t be the last.

Here’s what the 18 members who took the post-event survey told us….

  • 89 per cent of respondents had a chance to connect with a medical staff member they already knew.
  • 72 per cent of respondents connected with a medical staff member they didn’t already know.
  • 74 per cent strongly agreed that the event supported their well-being with a further 16 per cent somewhat agreeing.
  • 94 per cent indicated we should host a bowling event next year.
  • 58 per cent of respondents strongly agreed that family friendly events help develop connections between medical staff with 32 per cent somewhat agreeing.
  • The event earned a strong 89.47 per cent net promoter score.

Comments included:

  • Thank you for another great event. Would be great to have other food options besides pizza and veggie/fruit platter.
  • I am a new staff member. I didn’t know any of the staff at the gathering, but it was a fun outing for my kids, as work often feels like time away from them. A work-associated event that gave the children an opportunity to spend time together as a whole family was something I know they appreciated.
  • Might be nice to have an option to incentivize meeting others. Maybe small prizes for finding a member in a different service or something.
  • Really appreciate an event where children are included. Other events look so interesting, but it means another evening away from my kids (who already complain I’m away at work too much). My daughters had fun, I had fun, and I met some new people. Thank you for hosting this!
  • Super event. Please do again.
