Dear Members,
A new VMDAS and VPSA Board of Directors was confirmed at our December annual general meetings. It is a great pleasure for me to reach out to you as your new president. I—and all our board members—look forward to working with you and to delivering excellent programs and opportunities for further engagement.
With the New Year, there are many events coming soon that I hope you will be able to join. Details on these are included in your regular Checkup e-newsletters.
Behind the scenes, the board is working with the Facility Engagement Initiative and VCH senior leaders on VPSA’s annual review process. This is an opportunity to discuss progress made on collaboration between VCH and VPSA as well as to brainstorm ideas on what we can do to improve outcomes. This year we’re planning to focus on how we can work together even more in areas that we have in common such as wellness, planetary health, and EDI. Our goal is for each of our task groups and committees to develop objectives that will benefit everyone. With the VCH committees that we fund and support, we intend to provide feedback on their objectives, so we are aligned in our goals.
The monthly lunches we host in the VMDAS Hub for Engagement and Wellness at VGH are likely our most popular events. Even in between lunches, the HEW is a popular place to stop in for a coffee, meet with colleagues, or simply find a quiet place to relax. Unfortunately, OR construction means the HEW must close towards the end of February for several months. Our attempts to find a temporary replacement venue have not been successful and we regret that we are unable to offer you another space to meet during the interim.
Please remember that your medical staff association is here for you and I encourage you to reach out if you have questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Dr. Adam Meneghetti, President
VMDAS/VPSA
