VCH Physician Wellness Steering Committee
Not currently recruiting members
VCH would like to work with VPSA members to assess their levels of wellness and burnout as well as to identify the causes of burnout, why it exists, and to develop collaborative solutions. To this end, VCH would like to pilot a survey with a small number of groups, from which the learnings would be used to spread and scale the survey to other sites across VCH.
VPSA physicians who join the committee will attend meetings and provide valuable insights to shape the project. They will collaborate on the project’s design and implementation.
This project is expected to run from summer 2019 to summer 2020. The project plan currently anticipates four to five meetings over the course of the project, with one to two meetings over the summer months. Meetings will begin no earlier than 5 pm.
Sessional funding will be provided by the VPSA Facility Engagement Initiative. Please note: the committee’s draft terms of reference are available here.
THIS OPPORTUNITY IS CURRENTLY FULL. NO MORE APPLICATIONS ARE BEING ACCEPTED AT THIS TIME.
VPSA Clinical & Systems Transformation (CST) Committee
Four Physician Members Sought
VPSA physicians are wanted to advocate for our members. The goals of this committee are to ensure a successful rollout and sustainment of CST at VGH, GF Strong and UBC Hospital by:
- Providing a balanced perspective on CST (the positives and the negatives) to our members.
- Allowing dedicated space and time for MSA members to discuss and prioritize CST-related issues and concerns.
- Being an MSA point of contact for CST leadership to share information and discuss relevant matters and ensuring communication to our members.
- Advocating for critical fixes to Cerner to ensure workflow and patient safety and quality concerns are addressed.
- Advocating for mitigation strategies (pre-CST, during rollout and post-CST implementation) to minimize the stress on frontline physicians and staff and ensure patient safety and quality of care are maintained.
- Ensuring a meaningful evaluation process pre- and post-CST implementation and at pre-determined intervals. Measures should include impact on clinical providers’ efficiency, physicians' and patients’ experience of care, impact on clinical training, etc.
Sessional funding will be provided by SSC and the VPSA Facility Engagement Initiative. Physicians cannot be health authority CST champions. Please note: the committee’s terms of reference will be developed shortly.
