CST Cerner upgrade a first in Canada

The successful upgrade at VCH-Coastal sites will benefit VCH-Vancouver acute, ambulatory long-term care and inpatient mental health sites preparing for CST go-live in 2020.

Dr. Peter Edmunds, co-senior medical director, VCH-Coastal, remains an enthusiastic CST fan more than one year after go-live at Lions Gate Hospital.

On Saturday, June 22, VCH-Coastal sites made history.

All sites using CST Cerner successfully upgraded to the system’s latest version of Cerner Millennium — a Canadian first.

The Cerner upgrade has the same overall look and feel but offers many advantages. The latest version is easier to use, adds functionality, such as enhanced fetal monitoring, and offers improved performance, including enhanced speed and responsiveness.

Upgrade built on a strong foundation

The successful upgrade builds on a strong foundation that will benefit VCH-Vancouver acute, ambulatory, long-term care and inpatient mental health sites preparing for CST go-live in mid-2020.
