Your MSA and VPSA work to foster meaningful physician representation to better serve our community of physicians, our patients, and Vancouver Coastal Health. Our goal is to help create a culture at VCH where physicians play an active role in healthcare planning and decision making.

VPSA receives and reviews requests from VCH, Vancouver Acute, and Vancouver Community for launching VPSA Engagement Task Groups. We review each request independently, using a consultation and engagement policy to guide decisions to support physician participation.

If you are interested in forming a task group with VPSA, please note that the group’s objectives must align with at least one of the following:

• Improve communication and relationships among the medical staff so their views are more effectively represented.
• Prioritize issues that significantly affect physicians and patient care.
• Support medical staff contributions to the development and achievement of health authority plans and initiatives that directly affect physicians.
• Have meaningful interactions between the medical staff and health authority leaders, including physicians in formal health authority medical leadership roles.
