Physician appreciation lunches build connections between members and raise awareness of VPSA activities

VPSA follows a connect, collaborate and care model. The first step in engaging physicians is to connect them. A new way we are doing this is through physician appreciation lunches, which are offered on the second Friday of each month at VGH and, beginning in January, on the third Wednesday of each month at UBC Hospital. All VPSA members are welcome… just drop an email to at least 48 hours beforehand.

Physicians at the VGH lunches have caught up with colleagues they are already know as well as made new connections with physicians. Many are now recommending the lunches to their friends and survey results have been overwhelmingly positive.

“Great idea and thank you very much for arranging this monthly luncheon event,” wrote one.

“Great food. Went beyond expectations,” said another.

“It’s a really lovely initiative!” was another comment received.

VPSA is taking your suggestions to heart including how the tables are organized to encourage group conversations and the opportunity to meet more people. The lunches are also a great way to learn about other VPSA activities with staff onsite to promote upcoming events.

Drop by and start connecting, collaborating, and caring with your fellow physicians!
